IntroductionIn a nutshell Video Titan is a complete software and training system to get started selling products with Facebook Advertising.. This quick start guide will taken you through all the steps you need to follow to get quickly set up and selling products on Facebook in the shortest amount of time using videos. NB: In order to fully understand and use this Quick Start Guide to its potential, it is important that you watch all of the training videos featured to understand how the video software works. This will greatly aid and accelerate your success. There are essentially six steps to follow in the Video Titan system, these are Step 1: Find a product to promote on Facebook Step 2: Choose a TeeSpring niche. Step 3: Create a design Step 4: Create Your Video Campaign Step 5: Facebook Audience Targeting Step 6: Retarget Video Audience with Offer
STEP 1 - Choosing Your Niches We recommend and have had the most success with Teespring but with our video software you can just as easily promote your own product, a CPA offer or an affiliate product it's up to you. For the purposes of this document we are going to promote t-shirts with Teespring What Is TeeSpring In its most simplest form TeeSpring is a site where anyone can start selling t-shirts via the TeeSpring platform. All you need to do is upload a design, set a few rules for your campaign such as number to sell and the t-shirt price. You don't need any start-up costs or capital to get going because t-shirts are only printed when a minimum of 10 +t-shirts have been pre-ordered. Once orders for t-shirts reach 10+ the t-shirt "tips" and then the t-shirts are printed and delivered for you. You then collect your profits which is the difference between the cost of printing the t-shirt and the price you have chosen to sell the t-shirt for. Once you've set up your TeeSpring campaign the next step for you is to advertise your campaign to a super targeted market on Facebook. Typically campaigns run from anywhere between 7 - 10 days and you can always choose to relaunch a campaign to run again if it has been successful to sell even more t-shirts. At the moment the best-selling price point for t-shirt campaigns is $20 which means that on average you stand to make around $10 per t-shirt - so if you sell 100 t-shirts that's $100 profit for you! TeeSpring campaigns are super easy and quick to set up and which is great because it means you can have several campaigns running at any one time thereby multiplying your profits. Why TeeSpring? Selling t-shirts on TeeSpring is no doubt one of the hottest opportunities currently out there. It's no secret that people are making thousands of dollars on TeeSpring every single day because it's that hot. Our Video Titan software has been developed to harness the whole process and secrets of profiting with TeeSpring which makes this an absolutely perfect window of opportunity for you get in and start making ridiculous amounts of money using our software. People right now are making thousands of dollars with TeeSpring and it's not at all hard to achieve 5 and 6 figure profits in a relatively short space of time using Facebook video ads. But there is a right and wrong formula - get wrong and you more than likely won't make a dollar but get it right and very quickly you will be laughing all the way to the bank.
How TeeSpring Works As we mentioned above TeeSpring is a very simple platform to use for selling t-shirts. The process to set up a campaign is very simple and can be completed in just a few steps - upload a design, pick a t-shirt style, then pick a goal for the number of t-shirts you want to sell, set your price for the t-shirt and launch your campaign. It literally takes just a few minutes to set up and your campaign is live. The beauty about TeeSpring is that there is infinite possibilities to profit. You can run as many campaigns as you like each targeting a different niche if you like or several t-shirts in the same niche. Once you find a winning campaign you can relaunch that campaign and set your sales goal much higher which in turn will bring you a bigger profit margin and therefore more profits for you. Also, if you set a campaign running and you realise it's not a winner you can end the campaign at any time you wish if you don't want it to run for it's full cycle. And the whole beauty of using TeeSpring is that there are no upfront costs for a campaign. The minimum order for a t-shirt print run is 10 so once you hit this number the t-shirts are printed and dispatched to the customer. STEP 2 - Generating Design Ideas A) Brainstorm ideas for niches . To get your ideas going think of people around you, friends and family, their professions, jobs, interests, groups they belong to, hobbies and pastimes that take part in. Sports teams and clubs in your local area. The initial idea is to just brainstorm a long list of possible ideas that you can trim down later. The best way to do this is to open up Facebook Ads/Google/Amazon in separate tabs so that you can dart between them quickly to research your ideas and to see if there are products out there currently being sold. Enter your chosen keyword on each site and then you can quickly check the interest number on Facebook to make sure that we have an audience for that niche ( 100k - 1million). We will cover how to check for Audience Reach later in this guide.
B) Look at Teeview for the best selling designs for more t-shirt ideas and to see which t-shirts are the current best-sellers.
Ideally when you search for a niche keyword you want to find t-shirts that are selling on other sites such as Amazon, ebay, red bubble etc so you know they are popular but equally there are not too many of them on TeeSpring The reason for this is because if other teespring marketers see high numbers of shirts selling on teespring then naturally they are going to go after this niche which increases the competition so ideally you want to find the 'sweet spot' of tee shirts that you know are selling well but haven't been over exposed on teespring C) Pick 3 - 10 of the best niches that you are going to work with for example: When you have completed your initial research select 3 - 10 niches that you have researched and note down your niches and reasons in a notepad file.
So at this point you should have i) a list of niches ready ii) potential FB audience reach for each niche iii) proof that t-shirts or similar products are selling in this niche
STEP 3: Create Your T-Shirt Design First understand what makes a good design: - Proven metrics - it's sold, likes, appears in several places - Fits perfectly with a targeted Facebook Audience - Text heavy - texts grabs attention on the FB News feed - Easy to replicate - no clever images or graphs - one icon tops - Black t-shirt, white text + 1x white icon (start simple or black with white and 2-4 bright colours (pink/yellow/red) - No copyright / trademark infringement Trademarkia & Google: search any word or phrase that appears on your design Then you can start to: - Search for design ideas on tshirts on other sites. - List - Write down a list of ideas/references/URLs - Design - Make our design / hire a designer - Put live - Upload our design to TeeSpring - Options - Aim to have 3-5 designs ready for each new niche test
The easiest way to this is to open teeview and teespring in two separate tabs and search with your keyword which makes it easy to jump between the two tabs.
And then you can jump between the two tabs for each of your keywords:
And...
You should now have a list of design ideas:
Now you're ready to set up your teespring campaign. It's really quick and just takes minutes to do. A) Sign up for a free account with teespring here : www.teespring.com. Hit the Get Started button to start create your first campaign (nb: once you've created your first campaign it will ask you to complete your sign-up details so that next time you will log in first before setting up your campaigns - don't worry it's free to join Teespring). B) Upload your t-shirt design by locating the file where you have your t-shirt design on your pc and hit the 'Add/upload art button:
C) Once you have uploaded your design it will display on the t-shirt. Remember to select the Black Hanes Tagless Tee option. Once you're happy with it hit the 'Next step' button: D) You will then be taken to the sales goals settings page. Set your t-shirt price between $20 - $23 dollars and a sales goal of 20. Be sure that you selected 'black hanes tagless tee' above for the best return.
Again, hit the 'Next step' button to go to the next screen. Here you will need to enter a title and description for your campaign, as well as the campaign length and the url you choose for the campaign. So, enter the title of your t-shirt, and the description in the box (we have provided the full description we suggest you use directly under this image). Set you campaign to run for 7 - 10 days and choose a url for your campaign - this is the link that people will see in your facebook ad when it goes live. Here is the full description you can use for all your campaigns - just remember to change the end of campaign date!
Next scroll down the page, check the terms and conditions box and then hit the 'Launch Your Campaign' button at the bottom of the page. Your teespring is now live! Next you are going to do here is to create a video campaign in order to build an audience in your niche at a very low cost. Then once you have done that you are going to retarget that audience with your ads. This is an extremely cost-effective way of building leverage and reach within a particular niche. If people have watched your posted video and especially if they have watched all of it then you know they are interested in your niche so if you then display your ad to them again there is a much higher chance that they will buy from you. So the first step for you is to find a popular and engaging video in your chosen niche - ideally it should be a short videos that is funny, engaging or just weird but a video that will catch a viewers attention so that they watch it. So for this example let's use the "cycling" niche. A quick search on YouTube for "funny cycling videos" returned a selection of funny videos. However, remember we want a short video that people will watch and the one I selected is ideal with lots of views so that we know people are watching it. Obviously you will need to watch the video you select to make sure you're happy with it. Note: Avoid videos with backing music as this violates copyright and Facebook will penalise you for this by not allowing your video to run.
Next, once you have found the video you want to post you will need to convert your video to mp4 format so that you can upload it to Facebook. The easiest way to do this is to go to a free video converter, we suggest http://www.flvto.com. Simply take the url of the YouTube video and enter it into the convert box, select MP4 then hit the "Convert to" button and the video will be converted to an mp4 file for you in literally seconds for you to upload to your computer.
So now you have your video ready to go in MP4 format it's time to find your Facebook Audience to target. STEP 5 - Prepare Your Facebook Campaign Using Facebook's targeting features such as Audience Insights allows us to 'nail down' and fine tune our targeted audience. Once we have done that and set our Facebook video campaign live we then know that only those people we have targeted will see our video and so we are not wasting money advertising to those that would not be interested. The idea is to find an audience of between 100 - 700K ideally with an Facebook Affinity score of 5+. So log into your Facebook account and click on the "Audience Insights" link on the left side of the screen within the ads section of Facebook. i) Click on the 'Audience Insights' link on the left side of the screen within the ads section of Facebook :
So now we want to find a targeted audience of between 100 - 700k with a 5+ affinity. For this example again I'm going to use "cycling" since it follows us from the cycling YouTube video I found. In the screenshots below you can see the interests I have entered and the audience reach which is 250 - 300K which is well within our criteria. You can of course spend longer to increase your audience. And also the Affinity for those interests which again is well within our criteria of 5+.
Hit the "Save" button at the top of the page and give your audience a name because this is the audience we are going to use in our video campaign.
So now we have our audience it's time to create a post that contains the video link for our video campaign. We recommend you use "Get Video Views" for your video campaign and for this you will need to set up a fan page within your Facebook account so that you can post your video to your fan page. You can set up a generic fan page for all your facebook campaigns or you may choose to set up a fan page for each niche i.e. firefighter mom, labrador fan, baseball lover etc. When you are starting out you can just use one fan page if you prefer for all your campaigns.
A) Click on the arrow in the top right of your Facebook homepage and then on the 'Create Ads' link. B) Select Get Video Views
C) If you have more than one fan page select the one you want from the drop down menu and then click the 'Continue' button:
These are entered in the screen shot below but you should enter the demographics you selected for your ad from your 'Audience Insights' research earlier. Please note your demographics will depend on your campaign and niche - these are for example purposes only. So select your "custom audience" that you saved earlier. Unless you specifically want to target another country we recommend targeting USA to begin with. We recommend using an age range of 21 - 65 as this is the age range most likely to have money to spend.
|
iii) Next we need to set up the length of the campaign and a daily budget i.e. the maximum amount that can be spend on the video ad each day. By setting a daily maximum amount you won't have to keep checking your ad every few hours to see how much you've spent which will save you from overspending on any ad that isn't performing.
We recommend:
- set your budget to $5 per day for each ad and include mobile and desktop for ads to display on.
- run your ad for between 1 and 5 days.
Finally, you will need to upload your video.
Once you've entered your settings hit the green 'Place Order' button for your ad to go live.
Now your video campaign is live.
We recommend for each niche you research the most engaging/funny short videos using the Video Formula software and set up 2 or 3 video ads with different videos.
By doing this you can then see which video campaign is costing you the least amount for video views to use in your retargeting campaign which we will come onto next.
STEP 6: Retarget Your Audience
The next step is for you to retarget your video audience with your Teespring ad featuring your t-shirt. Remember your video campaign was shown to only the target audience you chose so now you are going to show the same audience your t-shirt ad.
Ideally you should let your ad run for between 1 and 5 days to get a decent audience.
After your campaign is run you can check in "Audiences" to see how many of your target audience watched your video. The data is split into 2 sections - "Completed" is the number of people who watched the entire video to the end whereas "Viewed" is the number of people who only watched the first part of the video.
To see this go to the "Ads Manager" page in Facebook and click on "Audiences" on the left side of the screen:
This will take you to the "Audiences" page where you will be able to see the Completed/Viewed data on your video:
So now we are going to take either a Custom Audience or a Viewed Audience and run our ad.
We recommend that you retarget your "Completed" audience as we know that they have viewed the video right to the end and therefore are likely to convert better for you.
First you will need to create a post on your fan page in order for your ad to run.
Select your newly created fan page link from the left side of your home page to take you to your fan page.
Next you need to create a post for your fan page in order to be able to set up your Facebook Ad:
Keep the post simple and straightforward. Note, you will now need the url of your teespring campaign as you need to include this link in your post. Below is a screen shot of suggested text you can use for your ad - just change the title and words to suit your niche:
Remember to tweak the wording to suit your niche.
Once you enter the url of your teespring campaign the image of your shirt will appear see a demo example below:
Once your post and image appears - hit the post button to make your post live.
So now you've created your post and published it - it's time to create your ad:
Click on the "Create Ad" button in Ads Manager and select Boost Posts from the options as we are going to set up a Page Post Engagement.
If you have more than one fan page select the one you want from the drop down menu and then click the 'Continue' button:
Next you need to set the demographics so that Facebook knows who you want to see your idea. So select your audience from the 'Choose Custom Audience' box and select either 'Viewed' or 'Completed'.
Check all other demographics are correct such as country, gender, age etc.
Next we need to set up the length of the campaign and a daily budget i.e. the maximum amount that can be spent on the ads each day. By setting a daily maximum amount you won't have to keep checking your ad every few hours to see how much you've spent which will save you from overspending on any ad that isn't performing.
We recommend
- you give your ad a name so that you can quickly recognise which one it is when you have several running
- set your budget to $5/£3 per day
- set a start and end date in line with your teespring campaign
Finally scroll down and to see how your ad will appear.
Make sure Desktop News Feed and Mobile News Feed are selected as these are where we want out ads to appear.
STEP 7 : Review Your Facebook Ads
NB: You will need Adobe Air to install the software which you can download for free from here: https://get.adobe.com/air/
VIDEO FORMULA allows you to see which Facebook campaigns are
profitable or not.
Simply export a "report" (CSV) from Facebook, then import it into the software.
Each adset is graded out of 100,
along with each gender/age segment.
This allows you to instantly see what action to take with each campaign/adset.
For example "the score is very low, kill the campaign" or "the score is very high but only for
males, aged 35-54. Focus all
ad spend on that segment".
I suggest you check on your campaign after spending between $3 and $5 then either kill it, let it run, or amend the campaign to only focus on a specific age or gender, based on what the VIDEO FORMULA tool tells you to do.
Here's how the tool works:
1. Download VIDEO FORMULA from
the Titan 2 download page.
2. Install the software
to your computer.
3. Login to Facebook Ads & click on "reports".
4. Click customize columns & add:
Click-through rate, cost per website click, cost per share, cost per post engagement, cost per website conversion, ad set name & ad spend, cost per video view and % of video viewed.
If there are other metrics showing you do not need to remove these but do ensure all of these metrics are added by checking the boxes and then hitting "Apply" as in the above screenshot example.
Next...
5. Click breakdown: age & gender
6. Save this report.
7. Now in the future you can access these saved pre-set report from the dropdown (saving the report means you will not need to complete steps 1 - 6 next time you want to check an adset's scores, just proceed from step 8).
8. Choose "adset name" and enter the name of the adset.
9. Ensure the correct date range is entered.
10. Export and choose to save as a CSV file.
Now open the VIDEO FORMULA software which you will need to install first.
Once you open the software you will arrive at this screen:
11. Click import & find the CSV file you just saved from Facebook.
12. Review the scores & confidence levels as described below.
SCORES
The campaign and each individual segment are scored out of 100.
This scores takes into consideration all the key metrics:
cost per sale (obviously), cost per share, cost per website clicks, cost per engagement & CTR.
So for example, a 10% CTR gets "20 points", a cost per share of $0.10 gets "30 points" etc.
These scores are then added up to provide a total score, for each adset (overall) and also each segment (age and gender):
0-40 Very bad scores. Kill this segment or campaign now.
40-55 Average scores. Consider killing.
55-65 Good scores. Allow to run to $5-20 ad spend.
65-75 Very good scores. Allow to run to $20+ ad spend.
75+ Exceptional campaigns. Review manually & improve ASAP.
CONFIDENCE
Confidence is scored out of 10 that represents total ad spend.
For example if we have only spent $1 on a campaign or adset we are only "0" confident about the data, but if we have spent $200 we can be very ("10") confident about the data.
TOTAL
By combining confidence and score we can get a total number.
Use scores/confidence/total to decide what to do next.
For example in the imported file below we can see the following results:
We want to focus on ideally the green blocks and consider the orange blocks. So from the above we can see that the age group 25-34 is performing badly. We will look at the age group 35 - 65+ since these are in the orange and green blocks. Also from the above we can see we have better performance from males. So we would go into our ad and edit the demographics to include:
Male only age 35 - 65+.
Then check back in another 24 hours to see if you need to cut the audience further, for example, to a specific age group.
To edit your ad simply navigate to your ad and click on the Edit link.
And then edit to male 35-65+
STEP 8: Rinse and Repeat
The idea here is that once you find a winning campaign - one that is producing a profit for you, you then need to scale out this campaign so that you can increase your profits.
The first way to scale a campaign is simply by increasing your daily ad budget for that campaign. If for example, you start with a daily budget of $5 then the next step is to increase your budget to $7. Keep a close eye on your VIDEO FORMULA data and if you continue to profit then increase incrementally to say $10 per day and then $15 per day. Continue to do this until you plateau out or cease making further sales.
At the same time as increasing your daily budget for a profiting campaign you also need to "rinse and repeat" your campaigns to further increase your profits.
You can do this by targeting the same "completed" audience with a different t-shirt design. Those that did not buy first time around may well buy the second time around if a different t-shirt design is promoted. .
Ideally, you should have 2 or 3 campaigns running at the same time so that you can compare how they are performing.
Test different videos to see which one receives the most engagement and then use the "completed" audience from that video to run your campaign to.
Also, if your campaign was successful you can then decide whether to target your "viewed" audience (those that only watched part of your video) to see how your campaign converts. Again, start with a modest daily budget and scale from there.
If you find you have a winning video that receives a lot of views then see how you can tweak that video to fit another niche to test the engagement and run a campaign - most likely the winning elements of the video that attracted attention will work in another niche so it is always worth testing.
As you run more and more campaigns you will quickly learn what does and doesn't work in a niche and will have a very good feeling for the likely outcome of a campaign but the most important thing is to keep testing until you find a winning campaign and then you move on to find the next winning campaign!
Remember the VIDEO FORMULA software does all of the analyzing for you so all you need to do is follow the rules we set above for the the data that is returned to you.
This makes it easy for you to have several campaigns running at the same time and be able to "kill off" very quickly any campaigns that you can see are not going to produce sales for you.
By running several campaigns at once you will quickly be able to spot the winners and losers and are less likely to waste money on just one campaign hoping that it will turn a profit.
By using VIDEO FORMULA this takes very little work in deciding which campaigns need to go and which to test further and scale out.
